GasPass terms of use and disclaimer
Last updated: 8 October 2026
These terms apply when you download or use GasPass. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
Who provides GasPass
GasPass is provided by Nicholas Whitehouse, trading as Evoke Heating and Plumbing, a sole trader in the United Kingdom ("I", "me"). Contact: support@gaspass.co.uk
A free test version
GasPass is a free test version. It is still being checked and improved, so:
- some calculations, rules, certificate wording or other content may be incorrect, incomplete or out of date
- features may change, be removed, or stop working
- test versions may stop working after a time, and you will need to install a newer one
You are responsible for your work
GasPass is a tool to help qualified engineers with paperwork and calculations. It does not replace your training, competence or judgement.
- You must be suitably qualified and registered for any gas work you carry out.
- Check every result, record and certificate against the current standards, regulations and the manufacturer's instructions before you rely on it, issue it or hand it over.
- The records you create are your records. You are responsible for what they say and for keeping them for as long as the law requires.
GasPass is not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by Gas Safe Register, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), IGEM or BSI. References to standards are for guidance only and are not copies of them. Always refer to the current published standard.
No warranty
GasPass is provided free, as it is and as available, without any warranty, promise or guarantee. I do not promise that it is accurate, complete, free of errors, suitable for any particular purpose, or that it will always be available.
Limits on liability
As far as the law allows, I am not liable for any loss or damage arising from using, or not being able to use, GasPass. That includes:
- loss of data
- loss of business, income or profit
- costs of correcting records
- claims made against you
- the consequences of relying on any calculation, record or content in the app
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
Your data
Everything you enter in GasPass is stored on your phone, not by me (see the privacy policy). I cannot see, recover or restore it.
- Back up regularly, and keep a copy off your phone.
- Uninstalling the app deletes its data. To update, install the new version over the top.
Using the app
You may use GasPass for free, for yourself and your business. You must not:
- copy, sell, rent, or redistribute the app (other than pointing people to the official download page)
- modify, decompile or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows this
- use it for anything unlawful
- remove or change any notices in it
GasPass and its content belong to me, apart from third-party software, fonts and public information listed under Settings › Licences & credits, which are used under their own licences.
Other services
Some optional features use other services: address search (Google), maps (Google, Apple), EPC lookups (the government's Energy Performance of Buildings register, with your own key) and TestFlight (Apple). Their own terms apply when you use them.
Changes and ending
I may update these terms. The new version will be posted here with a new date, and significant changes will be shown in the app.
You can stop using GasPass at any time. Export or back up your data first, because uninstalling deletes it.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
