Updates

What's changed in GasPass, newest first, and what's being worked on now. Found a problem or want something added? Use Settings › Report a problem in the app, or email support@gaspass.co.uk.

Being worked on

  • GasPass on the App Store and Google Play. The iPhone version is with Apple for review. Installing from the store keeps everything already in your app; until then, iPhone stays on TestFlight and Android on the download from this site.
  • Mac and Windows versions, syncing with your phone over your Wi-Fi.

1.0.1 (coming soon)

Tested on real jobs, and sent to Apple for the App Store on 19 October 2026. Android follows on Google Play.

Pressure tests

  • Tightness testing (UP/1B) reworked after road-testing. A report step shows the let-by and tightness pressures and times, the drop allowed, the installation volume and the purge. Choose whether you time the test on your own gauge or with the app's timers.
  • A test stopped short can no longer pass: Steady and No movement wait for the timer to reach zero, and resetting a timer takes its pass back. Failures can still be given early.
  • Timers pip at the start and for the last ten seconds, and sound a buzzer at zero, even with the silent switch on.
  • Strength and tightness testing (UP/1A) in the same style: one Pipework page with the volume against the 1 m³ limit, and a clear warning when you go over.
  • Save a test to a property. The figures are kept on the property's Work tab and in Completed › Tests, to open again or share.

Records and appliances

  • Gas rate from inside a record. Open the calculator over the form, and Use this result fills in the appliance's gas rate.
  • Appliance details: the last gas rate is kept apart from the rated heat input, heat input asks Net or Gross, and burner pressure is now Operating pressure. The appliance page checks the gas rate against the badge (+5 % / -10 %).
  • Properties have their own Appliances tab.
  • Editors keep what you typed if you open another section part way through.

Emails

  • Shared certificates and renewal reminders now arrive as a tidy email with your business name at the top and your details and Gas Safe number at the bottom.

Your devices

  • Getting a new phone? Restore from a backup straight from the first screen, without filling in setup first.
  • Paired devices sync again as soon as you come back to the app, and a notice says when changes arrive from another device.
  • The first sync with a new Mac or iPhone waits while it asks for Local Network permission, and explains where to allow it.
  • Pairing is quicker the first time.

Other changes

  • GasPass is no longer called a test version. The Before you start notes stay (check your own work, keep backups) and are in Settings.
  • Quotes and invoices warn when a number is already used.
  • Setup's address step searches for the address, like the forms.
  • Lots of smaller fixes to sync, the analyser, address lookup and maps.

1.0 (11 October 2026)

A rebuilt GasPass. It installs over 0.9 and keeps your data.

  • No account or login: everything stays on your own devices.
  • Wi-Fi sync between your own phone, tablet and computer, encrypted, with no account.
  • Tablet and desktop layouts, with lists and details side by side.
  • Gas Safety Record, Gas Service Record, Plant Commissioning/Servicing Record, Non-Domestic Inspection Record, gas testing and purging, unvented hot water, heating survey and Warning Notice, with Gas Safe technical bulletin help where it matters.
  • Customers, properties and the appliance register; jobs with a calendar and reminders; quotes and invoices with VAT and CIS; renewals; a dashboard.
  • Ten on-site calculators, with Recent Calculations and Send-to a record.
  • Form builder for your own forms on a tablet or computer.
  • Password-protected backups, automatic backups and app lock.
  • Copy everything from another device on first launch, and pair by scanning a code with the camera.
  • Step-by-step guides for every part of the app.
